San Antonio Lighthouse Events - Fall 2009
This year San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind is having 3 events for profit and publicity and wants our continued support and participation. (Heirloom Appraisal Day has been replaced by events designed to reach other segments of the community that may not be aware of the Lighthouse and its services). Thanks to the group who attended the first event on August 26th, a Johnny Bush country-western concert, to show DG support.
A 5K Run/Walk will be held September 26th and the Lighthouse is counting on 20-25 Delta Gammas to help with that event at Mission County Park off Roosevelt Ave. not far from the Lighthouse. We need to be there by 7:30 am to register participants, distribute food and water, etc. Everything , including clean-up, should be over before 1:00 pm. If you haven't already volunteered, please call Nancy Price at her office, 226-6843.
The last event is a charity golf scramble on October 14th following the two day 64th National Golf Tournament of the U. S. Blind Golf Assn. which will all be held at Brackenridge golf course. We did not commit help for this event since so few of us are golfers--however, anyone interested in volunteering may call Nicole Hoyt at S.A. Lighthouse, 531-1532.
