President's Letter Spring 2010
Dear San Antonio Delta Gamma Sisters, 2010 brings cause for celebration! The San Antonio Alumnae Group turned 60 years old in January! We were an association for 12 years and on January 14, 1950, we became an official alumnae chapter. According to Article II of our bylaws, our object is to provide opportunities for friendship, to participate in the projects sponsored by Delta Gamma Foundation and to assist collegiate chapters whenever possible. Considering our theme of “Past, Present and Future”, we will continue to honor those who have gone before us, challenge us all in the “now” and prepare for those who will follow. I’m sure Eva, Anna and Mary would be proud to see what began as a small “support group” 173 years ago become the nationally recognized organization that Delta Gamma is today with over 150,000 initiated members from 146 collegiate chapters. The simple motto “Do Good” has so many applications in our lives, every step of the way, as we fulfill the challenge we accepted upon initiation, however many years ago that may have been. At the senior bridge ceremony as the graduating senior ZH’s were reminded, they will be alumnae much longer than they have been collegians. There is a place for Delta Gamma in their lives moving forward, as we have all discovered. The future looks very bright based on the young women and their mothers and sisters who attended the Legacy Tea December 20th at Jan Cohen’s beautiful home which concluded our fall activities. We will have a variety of activities for the first half of 2010 and hope you will join us! A new decade has begun! In the bonds,
