Anchored in the Alamo City......DG in San Antonio!
"A friend is neither an anchor to hold us back, nor a sail to take us there. But is always a guiding light, whose love shows us the way."
Here in San Antonio, the bonds of Delta Gamma run deep and strong. Some of our members have been together for many years, some are forming new friendships, a few are brand new. We have a wide range of ages and experiences, yet we all share a sisterhood in Delta Gamma. There are about 360 Delta Gamma alumnae living in the San Antonio area and we welcome new faces each time we meet. We were honored to receive the Outstanding Alumnae Chapter
Award for Division 2 at Convention 2004 in Washington D.C. Since that
time, the chapter has been recognized multiple times for excellence in service,
PR and newsletter, Web site and more. Most recently, we were honored to
receive a Alumnae Excellence Award for 2006-2007, 2007-2008 and 2008-2009! Each local alumnae receives a biannual newsletter, published in the spring and fall. Dues paying members also may receive a directory of members and will have an official nametag waiting for them at meetings. Local dues are $20.00 per year at the basic (blue) level, and may be paid at a meeting or mailed to our treasurer. This amount no longer includes the per capita dues that are sent to Executive Offices. Those are now billed directly from EO. We encourage all local members to pay their dues in support of both our chapter and Delta Gamma Fraternity as a whole. For more dues information, and to view our three levels of membership, see Dues and Finance. We have an amazing calendar planned for this year. Please
check it out in full
and print it for easy reference. Information regarding locations of and
directions to our meetings is included in the newsletter, and may be obtained
via email by contacting the webmaster. Though San Antonio does not have
a local collegiate chapter here in the city, we do support many of the Region 6
chapters close to us. We are involved in a more "hands-on" way with the
Zeta Eta Chapter at Texas State
University in San Marcos. Zeta Eta is a growing chapter and we enjoy seeing them
each year at Founders Day and other events. We also cherish our "Aunt Hannah" program,
which supports all of our local San Antonio DG girls at colleges and
universities in Texas and around the country. If you would like to reconnect with your DG sisters and join our chapter here in the Alamo City, please contact us today!
